"Water proofing a 100yr old rock foundation"

So after putting it off for 2 weekends in a row, (because of the weatherman's threat of storms) last weekend I finally tried my hand at water-proofing my basement. Saturday morning we started digging around the foundation with a Terramite rented from Art's.

After digging approx. 8 feet down we decide that the "footer" did not exist and I began to power wash the dirt from the foundation. To my dismay most of the mortar, if indeed there was ever any applied in 1910, was gone. This was a good indication to why my basement was always in general stages of damp to flooded. The original plan called for the use of a tar on the foundation.

I wonder if back in the AC days, they ever thought it would come to this: www.boston.com/business/ticker/2010/04/turbine_sold.html

Ron's Stogie Dot Com

We all need to say something stupid to break things up a bit, so I'll start. Here's the solo debut I've been threatening the world with for several years. Sorry World, it wasn't worth the wait, but things are finally starting to fall into place.
