Rift Beta

FYI - I had signed up a few weeks back.  I never did receive an email, but when I checked my account online, I was able to download and play (and played way too long yesterday).

Starts out in low res graphics, so be sure to crank it up.  I am unable to run a full tilt (not enough machine). But things looked good at medium.

Beginning game play reminded me of WoW a bit (which I never cared for).  So, mabye it was just me but the beginning was bleh.....   But I kept playing.  Once I got to a higher level things were alot more interesting and fun.  You can choose three lines of skillsets/attacks and spend your points in anyone of them.  I suspect though that you would want to concentrate on your main (original skillset) to maximize your skill (only so many levels so therefore only so many points to spend).  There are alot of combinations and would be fun experimenting.

I did get invovled with a few Rift events, and that was quite fun.  So, the beginning was bleh, but looks like it would be quite fun later in the game.
