Should be able to post pics a little easier now, and in comment/reply field...  Once you figure out which of those fifty buttons to push.

Guess this is not Mac Friendly.....

Preview shows pic, but after save and refresh, there is no pic.   Last day on the island.  Had a great time.  Will fire up a WinBlows VM and see how that works.

hmm...It wants an URL for the image source (which of course these won't have).

Very nice, brings back memories.   Do you guys still prefer Costa Rica?

Costa Rica is more diverse and more tropical than Aruba, but Aruba does have its charm.  I would not hesitate to go back to Aruba, but being that the bosslady is from Costa Rica, we will probably be back in Costa Rica before Aruba.
We did not actually stay in the "high rise" district.  We stayed in Oranjestad, so we were not in the heart of all of the touristy stuff.  Found a great Cuban resturant and ate one meal there almost every day.  Overall, high marks for Aruba.  Just be prepared for the humity and heat.  Find a palm tree away from the buildings (get close to the sea) and sit back with your Balishi.  Island time is the best time.

Should also mention, if you are going for the beaches, then Aruba wins hands down.  Costa Rica has some nice beaches, but not like Aruba.

In which one would you retire?

Yokozuna's picture

Costa Rica -

  • cost of living is cheaper
  • can grow whatever you want (plenty of water - not a desert or nearly a desert like Aruba)
  • you can raise livestock
  • not everything is imported
  • good base of americans, canadians, germans already have retired there
