The US government has swapped out its old CMS and has decided to go for Drupal, an open source content management system.

(I think they changed shortly after the presidency did; so I'm not sure this "news" is really that new.)

 The forum & comments should be a little easier to follow for the vB'ers in us.  Switched to flat view, all new posts go to top of the thread giving our scroll wheels a break.  Avatars, post count, etc.  Had to delete some old posts in order for the new to make sense.

 

When starting a new topic, it's still best to use "Create Content" -> "Blog Entry".   

Yes, the term "blog" makes me cringe too, but this gives file attachment option, auto-posts to the front page, and various other niceties.

 

vBulletin has been bought out and Lifetime Licenses are no longer honored, so they can kiss my buttocks.

I'm liking this already.
I do think Drupal is a good product; but it takes a bit of rethinking and tweaking which isn't always easy (even for us techies).
 Any chance that we don't have to preview everything we say?  I like to spout crap not review it.

No more forced preview for the trusted gang.  

Perfect example of the "rethinking" needed, preview has always been optional but no button to save/submit.

 I missed something somewhere, cockadoody php...  All replies supposed to be at top.

The threaded replies (indent under reply target) are easier to follow in my opinion, but we've got some cantankerous old farts around here.
