So tons of stuff has been happening. EDS got bought out by HP a little over a year ago. At the time, it was "Thank God! It cannot be any worse." Well, how wrong I was. Dilbert has nothing on HP, and in fact, if Scott Adams reads this, I have some material for him. I actually thought about getting out of IT altogether. Things are just not what they used to be.
Then out of the blue, I was contacted by some folks. They had a joint venture starting up with the parents being EMC, CISCO, VMWare, and Intel. The name of the company is Acadia. One thing led to another, and bam, I in a new company. I feel very fortunate to have landed here. Emtae has now joined. Since Acadia is just starting out, things are a bit hectic, but all in a good way. I still check in here every so often, but other things are consuming my time. Just thought I drop a line. I am not dead (yet) and as things get rolling, I should have some more free time.

I too have been thinking about getting out of IT....

Well I am fortunate to be where I am. If you are not on the bleeding edge of IT, you are just another blue collar work force. A work force that is to be reduced, by attempting to chase the cheap labor over seas. Just like manufacturing did in the 70's. In the end it will all come back here, but it will be a painful process.
Hey! What happened??
Sounds interesting. As long
Sounds interesting. As long as you don't get calls at all hours of the night it's gotta be better.
Very true. No more on call
